Deer Creek Activities Update for April and beyond

Happy Friday Deer Creek,

I’m coming to you this morning with some updates and some new information on upcoming activities for April and beyond:

Please mark your calendar for April 3^rd at 11:30am as we will have a Safety presentation in the MCH brought to you by the Polk County Sheriff’s office. Bring bottled water or soft drink If you so desire.
In April, the Tiki Bar will now offer Karaoke on Saturday, April 6^th from 3pm to 6pm with KJ, Devon Clare of Karaoke Addicts. In order to avoid diluting the draw of this pop-up event, the Mostly Music Thursday Karaoke in the MCH normally held on the first Thursday of the month, in this case, April 4^th, has been cancelled.
With Thursday, April 4^th now open, TRIVIA NIGHT has been moved to 4/4/24 in the MCH, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Small prizes are offered to the winning team. Teams must be comprised of 10 people or less per team. There is NO CHARGE and all are welcome. This will be the last Mostly Music Thursday event for the season.
Karaoke for the Spring/Summer in the MCH will be sponsored by the Topside Tavern, on the first Thursday of each month (except July which is the 2^nd Thursday) from May through September.
We are still in search of someone to give the invocation and make brief remarks with reference to Labor Day and Patriot Day. Lunch (or brunch) for said person and his/her spouse will be provided. At this time, I’d like to thank both Joe Golden for stepping up for the Memorial Day luncheon and Don Schatz for the 4^th of July luncheon. For the Patriot Day event, it would be an honor to have a first responder speak, but it’s certainly not required.
We currently have six (6) seats left on the bus for the NCL Cruise in January, 2025. If you’re thinking of joining us, don’t hesitate to register for this fun-filled week on the sea with our great group. After the six spots are filled, I will put together a bus waitlist.

will go on sale Monday, April 8^th. See Kerry King in the Admin Office until April 30^th. After that time, see Terri (TJ) Jones, or Kelley Collison at the tavern. Golfers, your lunch is included in the fee you pay for the three (3) holiday golf tournaments so be sure to pick up your lunch ticket at time of sign up. Watch for the flyers to be posted on the community bulletin boards for menus or additional information.

Water Aerobics begin April 2^nd and meets at the MCH pool at 9:30am on Tuesday and Thursday. Class is led by Joan Kane. Bring a large pool noodle.
Water Volleyball resumes on Tuesday, April 9^th in the MCH pool from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. WVB meets on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 1:00pm throughout the summer, weather permitting. Swing Dance lessons in the MCH continue through April on Monday evening at 6:00 pm.
Line Dance lessons in the MCH continue through April on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm
Chair Yoga takes a break for the entire month of April, but resumes in May at 8:30am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Chair Yoga takes another break for the entire month of August but resumes in September.
Darts meets in the MCH at 3:00pm on Monday, and concludes on April 15^th.
Game Night in the MCH meets on Friday at 6:00p through April and concludes on April 26^th
Crafts in the MCH on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00am continues to meet throughout the month of April, with a closing date of April 30^th.
