It is with sadness that I share the passing of long-time resident, Art Shorts, who passed away yesterday.
Art was a kind and active member of our community and a dedicated shuffleboard enthusiast. His passion played a meaningful role in shaping the program many Deer Creek residents enjoy today. His 67-year marriage to his wife, Anita, was a testament to their deep commitment to one another.
Due to health changes, Art and Anita relocated to Connecticut a few years ago to be closer to family.
Many of you may remember the message he included in his emails: “This is the first day of the rest of our life, enjoy it!”– a reflection of the positive outlook he brought to those around him.
