With a heavy heart, we are reaching out to share the tragic loss of one of the employees, Jennifer Hernandez’s daughter Katelynn. On Friday morning, Katelynn was involved in a devastating four-car crash on Nova Road. She did not survive the crash.
She was only 24 years old and had a bright future ahead of her. Her passing has left a deep void in the many lives she touched. Jennifer was more than an employee; she was part of our Deer Creek family.
For those who may be new and have not met Jennifer, she has worked with Deer Creek for 7 years as the Utility Supervisor. She recently accepted a position with Polk County due to the sale of DC utilities in future and left DC full-time at the beginning of January. She had become close with many of our residents/staff, who are like family to us all.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragic event.
As we process this heartbreaking loss, we are coming together to support her family and honor her memory. We are raising funds to assist with funeral expenses, medical bills, and to help her family during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
