Good morning, Deer Creek!
We hope this email finds you well and enjoying the beginning of summer season. It has been an exciting and busy time for the team as we have installed our sidewalks and gear up for the Blvd. to be completed before our snow birds return! We are also preparing for hurricane and budget season. We hope for those still here, you are enjoying the completion of the sidewalks.
Below, we wanted to remind our residents of important items:
- Please slow down. We have received several complaints/concerns about residents exceeding the speed limit of 10mph.
- In observance of Independence Day, our Administration office (and maintenance) will be closing at 1:30pm Monday, July 3rd and remain closed on Tuesday, July 4th. We will reopen with normal business hours on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. If you should have an emergency, please call 863-289-4379.
- The Pro Shop will be closing Tuesday, July 4th at 9am after registration for the tournament. If you are a member and not playing in tournament but want to register to play (July 4th), please see Lynn at the Pro Shop.
- There is NO trash pick up on Tuesday, July 4th.
- Our resident gate codes will be changed next Thursday, July 6th. Emails will be sent to residents with the new code on Wednesday, July 5th. Please make sure you keep an eye out for this email.
- No golf carts are to be on the sidewalk.
- The recent email about meter maintenance that will be performed over the next few months does not include replacement of any curb valve stops. Unfortunately, it has been found that when many of the meters/valves were installed, they were installed this way. The meter and valve are property of the Utility Department and not of the homeowner. This has NO effect on your water service. We are not processing request to change the valve.
- There are to be 2 to a cart for all golfers.
- There is to be no walking on the course. This includes pets or with your pets.
- Baxter’s meat vendor will not be here next week and will return Thursday, July 13th.
- Produce vendor is here today at the Administration lot. COME SUPPORT LOCAL VENDOR! He will not be here next week and will return Friday, July 14th.
- Your community inspections are coming up. Trees, weeds and power washing will be the focus this month. Please understand the 1st step of the process is inspection and sending a “friendly notice” before the violation process begins. Do not be mad immediately if you disagree. Please do not fear if you are unable to tend to immediately. Please call Benita 863-424-2839 ext.104 and speak with her. We are here to help you!
- With 4th of July upon us, Americans everywhere will be shooting up fireworks to celebrate our country's independence. While most everyone enjoys a good cookout and fireworks display, safety is of the utmost importance. Another factor that comes into play, is being courteous to your neighbors, and allowing them to celebrate in their own manor. While Florida Statutes (791.08) does include an exemption for the use of fireworks on certain holidays, please be respectful, by not celebrating past a reasonable time at night, or into the wee morning hours. Remember, the homes in your community are close in proximity, making it very easy to cause damage to yours, or your neighbor's property, in which you would be responsible for. Please ensure any and all debris relating to fireworks is picked up from any neighboring properties and/or common area and disposed of properly. Common areas should not be utilized for fireworks without prior written approval of the Board of Directors of the association.
As we enter the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which spans from June 1 to November 30, it is essential to be well-informed and prepared for potential storms. It is important to always have certain items on hand in case of a storm, but there’s still plenty to do in the last crucial days of preparation right before the hurricane arrives. This is the time to make sure your yard and house are properly secured to withstand the wind and rain coming our way! Here are some steps you’ll want to take:
- Have your trees trimmed. We all know how much debris is left to clean up after a hurricane, and how dangerous it can be if any of it hits your house during a storm. Cut down on this in advance by trimming dead branches, especially any that might be handing near windows. Any dead trees should be removed. Briggs was here this month completing trimmings. If you did not get on the list for trimming, you can always call Autumn at Briggs Tree Service at 863-557-9991 or email at briggstreeservice@gmail.com to have them come to your lot and provide estimate.
- Clear your yard. Remove and store any objects on porches or in your yard that can easily get knocked over or blown away, such as potted plants, patio furniture or cushions, trash cans and any outdoor decorations. Lay large items down on their side that would be too difficult to move or store. If you are physically unable to do these tasks, please reach out to your HOA for possible volunteer help from your neighbors.
- Clear gutters. Make sure your gutters and drains are free from leaves and other debris that would inhibit water flow.

Hoping you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
