Good afternoon Deer Creek Residents,
Many of you have received a recent letter from CSWR-Florida titled “Notice of Utility’s Petition to Establish an Acquisition Adjustment.” We want to provide clarification, as several residents have asked whether this notice relates to Deer Creek Utilities.
This notice does not pertain to Deer Creek’s water or sewer system.
The letters you received are required by state rule and relate to other utility systems CSWR already owns, such as Aquarina Utilities, North Peninsula Utilities, Neighborhood Utilities, Sunshine Utilities, and Rolling Oaks Utilities. These systems are listed directly in the notices.
Because CSWR-Florida is regulated as a single private utility entity, the Florida Public Service Commission requires them to send statewide notices to all customers of any affiliated system—even when the petition has nothing to do with the customer’s own community.
There is no impact on Deer Creek Utilities, no change to our rates, and no connection to the pending purchase of DCU by CSWR.
This is simply a regulatory notice required under Florida Administrative Code.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Corporate Office.
Respectfully,
Samantha Jewell
